In the Lupin VS Conan TV special , Lupin and his gang are portrayed very faithfully from their recent incarnation of TV specials.

Arsene Lupin 3rd ~ world's greatest thief , a villainous cad to most , but in reality Lupin's exploits and heists co-incide with stopping would be global dictators and mad scientist types from causing harm to the world.

Lupin's famous great grandfather has matched wits with Sherlock Holmes and was known as a gentleman thief.
Lupin's true motives once again are more than they seem , as Lupin's threat to steal the Queen's crown is subterfuge
for his concern over the mining of a new stealth ore located in the kingdom .Lupin's weakness are damsels in distress 

and Fujiko's charms .

Jigen Daisuke ~ Lupin's sharpshooter friend a former Chicago hitman always wears a grey suit and fedora , his lightning quick reflexes and gun skills have proven an invaluable asset , in the special , it seems Jigen was hired as a miltary tactics advisor to the Royal military and had no involvement with Lupin at the time .

Mine Fujiko ~ Many heists performed by Lupin have been re-heisted by this mystery woman , sometimes his partner but more often his rival, the elusive Fujiko is the cause for Lupin's stalwart partner's lack of faith in him , and she is his only apparent weakness , Fujiko's methods are usually to watch and wait and either betray Lupin to the authorities or just beat him to punch and steal his target before he's aware . Fujiko's name refers to "mountain peaks" and it's not really hard to figure out why, her weakness is her own greed.

Goemon Ishikawa XIV ~ Lupin's samurai clad partner oddly enough is the 14th descendant of a real Japanese samurai boiled in oil for banditry . Goemon was originally a crime boss with Lupin as his rival . His fate had lead him to join Lupin and save him , so he can one day kill Lupin himself , he will sometimes claim , but it is more likely that his fate has lead him to this path of watching over Lupin . Goemon's sword Zantsetsu is the strongest blade on earth , and forged of mystery metals . GOemon is loath to cut anything but worthy opponents , and will reply in disgust "once again I cut a worthless object" each time it's used for anything but a fight . GOemon for all his training and skill has the same weakness for pretty girls as Lupin , but none of his leachery.

Inspector Zenigata ~ Zenigata is the direct descendant of Japan's first policeman , he's unrelenting and has dedicated his lifetime to arresting Lupin , and ONLY he is the one to arrest Lupin , as "tot-san " or old man has been known to release Lupin so he may capture him, himself. Zenigata was re-assigned to ICPO or InterPol to follow Lupin across the globe to arrest him. The perfect match for the thief , and utterly incorruptible , indestructible , Zenigata has survived more explosions than WIL E COYOTE in pursuing Lupin. When it comes to Lupin's presence in any crime scene Zenigata has developed a keen sixth sense and is usually on the scene before anyone actually has to summon him.

Plot summary : The Royal family is out hunting when tragedy strikes , the Queen is accidently shot by the Prince , and the Prince grief struck commits suicide on the scene .But all is not what it seems ....

Conan and Kogoro are watching a news program about visiting royalty in Japan and spot Ran's identical double is the Princess and sister of the recently deceased Prince from the opening scene . They attend a gala with the visiting princess in attendance who decides to ditch her bodyguards when she runs into Ran and makes a identity switch. Things get further complicated when Fujiko Mine arrives on the scene and aids the Princess's (now disguised as Ran) escape . This leaves Ran in the Princess's place and in the midst of a plot to usurp the kingdom . Conan follows Ran into the Kingdom when she is kidnapped by the King and forced to act out the coronation ceremony. Lupin arrives with his own plans , Kogoro is teamed up Zenigata , and Lupin senses there is more to Conan than would first seem.
